 Upgrade old laptop or buy new?I bought a Dell Inspiron E1505 back in 2006. The specs:
Intel T2300 1.66Hz 1 gig ram 75 gig HD (28 gig free) DVDRW ADI radeon X1300 256MB (uses shared memory) WIN XP battery is dead It is slow, especially when I have a lot of programs open which I often do for work. I can buy 2 gig of ram for $75 and speed it up quite a bit, but I can get a much better laptop for $500. The current laptop works, it just is annoyingly slow. I travel a lot more for work now, so I use it a lot more. I am paranoid the thing will die on me since it is so old. How about this as a replacement? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+Insp ... Re: Upgrade old laptop or buy new? month late on the reply but the second is much better and is only 20 percent more expensive. the first only has ddr2..second has ddr3 ram and more of it and wireless networking. plus the i7...though im sure youve made your choice already by now

Re: Upgrade old laptop or buy new? Works well. Screen is great. It is a ton lighter than the old one. Programs load faster. The wifi is faster. It will actually run games! I can edit photos on it.
